video for high school students planning on college

Prevailing wisdom tells you to attend the best college you can.  But I disagree, if you plan on graduate school after college.

To gain admission to a top-tier grad school, you must rank in the top ten percent in college, as a minimum.

However, at elite colleges, almost all the students were top ten percent in high school.  It is impossible for everybody to remain in the top ten percent at the elite college.  Only ten percent will do so.

Therefore, simple probability states that, if you attend an elite college, you will probably not remain in the top ten percent, and will thus probably not gain admission to a top-tier grad school.

Further, the data shows that most of the students at top-tier grad schools did not attend elite colleges.

The video suggests alternatives for you.  The trailer gives a summary.  A longer video (below) gives greater detail.
